Monthly Tech Tips

Now is the time when we want to ensure that your bunk and engine heaters are performing to expectation, and providing the warmth necessary for those cold winter nights.

To ensure your Webasto equipment continues without problems, the following maintenance tips should be followed for:

Webasto Air Top 2000

  • Periodic Runtime Schedule – Once a month  for 1 hour (even in the summer)

 

  • Regular Maintenance For Functional Reliability of The Heater:
    • Check the hot air inlet and outlet for dirt and foreign material (dirty or blocked hot air tubes may cause overheating) – every 6 months
    • Clean the exterior of the heater (avoid the ingress of water) – every 6 months
    • Check electrical connections for corrosion and ensure that they are tight and secure –  every fall
    • Check the exhaust and combustion air tube for signs of damage and to ensure that they are clear – every fall
    • Change fuel filter and check fuel lines for leaks – every fall
    • Check condition of the batteries and all associated connections. A battery load test is recommended – every fall

Webasto Engine Heater TSL 17

  • Periodic Runtime Schedule – Once a month  for 1 hour (even in the summer)

 

  • Regular Maintenance For Functional Reliability of The Heater:
    • Clean the heater and enclosure box of any accumulated debris or dust with compressed air – every 6 months
    • Check wiring harness for damage, repair or replaced if damaged – every fall
    • Check condition of the batteries and all associated connections. A battery load test is recommended – every fall
    • Check air intake tube carefully for restrictions and damage. Repair or replace if damaged – every fall
    • Check the exhaust system carefully for restrictions or corrosion – every fall
    • Change fuel filter once a year – every fall
    • Inspect fuel line for damage, restrictions, routing or loose connections – every fall
    • Inspect all coolant lines and clamps for leakage, restrictions or damage – every 6 months
    • Inspect coolant circulation pump for leakage – every 6 months
    • Check that coolant system including circulation pump is clean and free of debris – every 6 months
